Col. Stephen D. Wood, Vice Commander of the 72nd Air Base Wing at Tinker Air Force Base, spoke at the Veterans Day Honor Luncheon on Nov. 12 in the Main Dining Hall at RSC.

Wood spoke about the valuable training that RSC provides to military members.

“We need trained and educated personnel  to succeed. Our veterans need education to succeed during and their service and post-service lives,” Wood said. “Rose State College provides fantastic educational services to veterans at Tinker Air Force Base and the community.”

Wood also shared stories about his father, saying he encouraged Wood to join the military for educational opportunities.

Jared Bradley, Student Senate President, presented the Veteran of the Year Scholarship. Bradley said the $200 cash award is “given out of appreciation for their selfless service to us and our country.”
