The Student Success Center has two upcoming Financial Literacy Program workshops.

The “Wise Use of Credit Cards” workshop will be held March 28 from 12:30 – 1:30 pm and will discuss how to use credit responsibly.

The “Couponing 101” workshop is April 2 from 12:30 – 1:30 pm and will teach novice spendthrifts the ins and outs of coupon mastery. This is one of the most popular Student Success events, so get there early.

Both workshops will be held in the Business Building, room 209. All attendees will be entered into the drawing for a free t-shirt. They can also register for the Apple iPad drawing that will take place in May.

The Student Success Center and its workshops are part of the Achieving the Dream Initiative, which focuses on student retention and success rates through various programs.

Have you checked out the Student Success workshops? There are three the week of September 10-14, with a focus on college survival, going green, and interview skills.

The potential perk of these workshops is an iPad. Those who attend a Success Workshop will be entered into a drawing at the end of the semester for an iPad. Continue reading

RSC staple wins CSA award

The Classified Staff Achievement Award is a prize given to a Rose State College employee that goes above and beyond their job duties. The winner of the CSA award receives an honorable mention at the September CSA meeting and $1,000 in cash.

Tammy Martin keeps payroll on track with a smile.

This year’s winner is Tammy Martin who works in the Payroll office. Martin has worked at RSC for24 years, “I’ve worked in several different places on campus, but I’ve been in payroll for over ten years,” Martin said, “I love [my job]. I’ve got the best boss and the best area.”
